The course is practical and draws upon relevant literature and proven methodologies. This course will help employers to equip managers with the basic skills necessary to maintain a mentally healthy workplace, thereby increasing resilience amongst the workforce, leading to reductions in both absenteeism and presenteeism, which will increase productivity. The course is a three hour session, which can be provided either onsite or at training premises arranged by PCT Training Ltd.
This six hour course will provide staff working in caring roles with the necessary information and awareness to be able to provide an initial response to, and signpost on to appropriate services for, people experiencing mental health problems. The course includes an exploration of the meaning of mental health, how mental distress can become a problem, specific information on key mental health issues including depression, anxiety and psychosis, along with information on how to respond and where to look for professional help. Experience has shown that staff undertaking this training not only feel much more confident in dealing with clients who exhibit signs of mental distress, but also that the training improves the resilience and mental well being of the participants themselves, thus providing a double benefit to the employing organisation. The course can be provided in house or at a suitable local training venue arranged by PCT Training Ltd.
